# Full Country/Subdivision List

### Intro

GoProxies provides access to countries across the globe. It is therefore good to know how to reach those countries by obtaining their abbreviates titles, for example Germany - DE, United Kingdom - GB, France - FR, and so on.

### Country And Subdivision List

GoProxies uses standardised abbreviations called “Alpha-2 code” which you can find on the this repository: [Country and Subdivision Repository](https://github.com/ipregistry/iso3166?tab=readme-ov-file)

Once you have the title, you can then target the country using the -country-countryname flag as per the [Proxy Country Targeting Guide](https://docs.goproxies.com/proxies/rotating-residential-proxies/proxy-parameters/country) (article for residential proxy, but same flag parameter for any other product): Make sure to always write in lowercase, in this case -country-us for the United States.\
\
Same is concerning subdivisions which uses the -state flag as per the example rotating residential state flag guide here: [rotating residential state targeting](https://docs.goproxies.com/proxies/rotating-residential-proxies/proxy-parameters/state), and -city flag as per [rotating residential city targeting](https://docs.goproxies.com/proxies/rotating-residential-proxies/proxy-parameters/city)

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.goproxies.com/proxies/faq/full-country-subdivision-list.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
